Senior Social Worker/Community Assistant Team Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker/Community Assistant Team Lead to join our Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS) team at Stockport Council. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting and developing the DOLS service within Stockport, as well as supporting the learning and development of Best Interest Assessors within the service and across Adult Social Care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and develop the DOLS service within Stockport
- Support the learning and development of Best Interest Assessors
- Work in coproduction with our quality team and Stockport Providers to ensure Managing Authorities understand their responsibilities regarding DOLS and DOLS conditions
- Work with the locality teams and Learning Disability Service to ensure they understand and comply with the wider statutory duties regarding compliance with the MCA and community DOLS
About You
We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about Human Rights and has extensive experience in the relevant legislation and experience of completing assessments under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA). You will need to have experience of supporting less experienced staff in the workplace and demonstrate mentoring skills and presentation skills.
