Job Description

This role involves working closely with our defence clients to deliver outcomes in sourcing, contract management, supply chain management, business analysis, problem-solving, tendering, and stakeholder management. As a Commercial/Procurement Manager, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects, developing your skills and expertise in the defence sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing commercial advice to defence clients on procurement and contract management processes
  • Developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies to meet client needs
  • Managing supplier performance through contract management and Earned Value Management
  • Applying commercial expertise to identify suitable approaches for given circumstances, assessing potential trade-offs and risk mitigation requirements

Requirements

  • Commercial experience in procurement, contract management or contract placement (sourcing) in single source and competitive markets, preferably within the defence sector
  • Ability to identify suitable commercial approaches, assessing trade-offs and risk mitigation requirements
  • Understanding and application of programme, portfolio, and project management tools
  • Supporting delivery of procurement and tendering processes, applying commercial expertise and judgement

Desirable Experience

  • A background in government procurement processes, including single source and competitive contracting
  • Familiarity with Defence and Security Public Contracting Regulations (DSPCR) and Public Contract Regulations (PCR)
  • Knowledge and experience with New Engineering Contract (NEC), FIDIC, and/or Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) contracts

Qualifications

  • Professional qualification(s) in commercial management, business, law, project management, or a similar relevant discipline
  • CIPS level 4 certification or ability to attain
  • UK MoD Security Clearance-UK Passport Holder

Salary Information

The salary for this role is estimated at £60,000-£80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
