Job Description

Dover Precision Components, a leading manufacturer of precision components, is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. As a key member of our manufacturing engineering department, you will be responsible for planning and programming CNC machines to produce high-quality metal and composite parts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in precision engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in off-line CNC programming using CAD/CAM software. Knowledge of Gibbs CAM software is an advantage. You will also possess excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret drawings and design data to determine cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates.

About the Job:

  • Plan and program CNC machines to produce high-quality metal and composite parts
  • Analyse drawings and design data to determine cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed rates
  • Collaborate with shop floor personnel and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of required tooling and fixtures
  • Create bills of material for manufactured components and routings for manufactured components
  • Apply principles of Lean Manufacturing to reduce setup times and improve productivity
