About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Gateway Recovery Centre in Warrington. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the facilities are well-maintained and safe for our service users, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in ensuring the services facilities are fit for purpose, including gardening and conducting regular audits to identify and repair any faults.
  • Work alongside an established team to complete maintenance-related tasks, liaising with contractors to support the upkeep of the service.
  • Participate in regular checks and maintenance, including the repair and maintenance of all buildings and assisting in all decorating.
  • Liaise with a manager to report all faults and defects, and participate in a 1-week on-call rota for emergency maintenance.
  • Coordinate and support contractors while on site, completing all paperwork and tool checks.

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a maintenance role.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Compliance with systems and procedures.
  • Showing courtesy and respect to residents at all times.
  • Attending and participating in training sessions and staff meetings.

About the Team

You will be working at the Gateway Recovery Centre, a state-of-the-art facility providing care for men and women with complex mental health requirements. The hospital is split into four distinct areas, including a male autism service, assessment and rehabilitation for women, a specialist inpatient service for older men, and a low secure care setting for men with mental illness.
