Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Join Safran Electrical & Power UK as a Manufacturing Engineer and contribute to the development of advanced electrical solutions for the aviation industry.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to act as the focal point for technical support initiatives and quality control analysis. As a key member of our team, you will lead technical investigations, implement robust root cause analysis results, and create ideas for effective and corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Act as the focal point for operations managers and engineers when interfacing with company technical experts.
  2. Lead technical investigations and implement robust root cause analysis results.
  3. Recognise and solve manufacturing issues by proactively communicating with both operations and engineering teams.
  4. Update Bill of Materials for existing products, driven from engineering changes.
  5. Support internal and outsourced operations, sharing and developing best practice across both the Pitstone site and at a divisional level when required.
  6. Assist and influence the construction of module-based strategic road maps, justifying capital investment for machines, tooling, plant equipment and more.
  7. Champion effective industrialisation of products, tools, machinery and process.
  8. Create, validate and maintain production layouts, standard operations and other configuration documents.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree or experience in mechanical, electronics or production engineering.
  • Ability to lead technical investigations, proactively engaging with multiple departments.
  • Experience working within a dynamic manufacturing engineering team.
  • Ability to communicate confidently at all levels.
  • Problem solving techniques and an analytical approach.
  • Working knowledge of legislative requirements including REACH and DSEAR is desirable.
  • Understanding of Statistical Process Control, lean manufacturing and Design for Manufacture (DFM).
  • Evidence of written English at interview stage.
