Engineering Geologist Opportunity

COWI is seeking an experienced Engineering Geologist to join our Ground Engineering team in Glasgow. As a key member of our team, you will work on a range of ground engineering projects in the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare desk study reports, ground investigation reports, and derive geotechnical parameters.
  • Develop engineering geological models and conduct engineering geological mapping.
  • Supervise ground investigation and geotechnical works in various environments, including railways, highways, and underground.
  • Participate in engineering geological, geotechnical, rock engineering, and other relevant company training.
  • Deliver high-quality work, ensuring accuracy through self-checking and supporting graduate staff in the engineering geology team.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in geology or a similar geoscience, and a master's in engineering geology or equivalent.
  • Active pursuit of Chartered Geologist (CGeol) with the Geological Society or equivalent, such as CEng.
  • Sound understanding of various ground engineering systems, including rock engineering, earthworks, and slope stabilization.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team.
  • Familiarity with Eurocodes and CDM Regulations, specifically designers' requirements and risk assessment processes.
  • Knowledge of software such as AGS data, Holebase, Groundhog, Leapfrog, and rock engineering software.
  • Beneficial to hold a full UK driving license.
