Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant

Job Summary:

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team at an Alternative Provision. The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support for students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with complex needs and challenging behaviors
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and implement behavior management plans
  • Support in-class activities and promote independent learning
  • Build positive relationships with students to enhance their engagement in learning
  • Work with students to develop strategies to replace negative behaviors with positive ones

Requirements:

  • Prior experience working with children or young people with complex needs
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and external agencies
  • Must have an Enhanced Child Only DBS or be willing to apply for one
