About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Orthopaedic Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic trauma and elective orthopaedic multi-disciplinary therapy team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist occupational therapy services to patients with complex surgical and orthopaedic conditions, managing a variable and complex clinical caseload, and contributing to the development of the occupational therapy service.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of London's largest orthopaedic services, with specialist interests in hip and knee replacements, complex spinal surgery, and upper limb surgery. The ideal candidate will have advanced specialist knowledge and skills in occupational therapy, excellent leadership and communication skills, and experience in training and mentoring others.

The estimated salary for this role is £43,041 - £69,361 per annum, depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Provide specialist occupational therapy services to patients with complex surgical and orthopaedic conditions, including assessments, goal setting, and treatment planning.
  2. Manage a variable and complex clinical caseload of patients with a high proportion of complex surgical and orthopaedic conditions.
  3. Contribute to the development of the occupational therapy service, including the design and implementation of new policies and procedures.
  4. Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for patients.
  5. Develop and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Masters level or equivalent training in specialist area or evidence of significant practical experience, research, or publication in specialist area.
  • Experience working in an acute hospital setting, preferably in a trauma and elective orthopaedic service.
  • Advanced performance in a range of clinical skills in physical disability.
