We are seeking a highly skilled Learning Support Practitioner to join our team at HMP Wandsworth. This permanent, full-time role offers the chance to work with individuals and contribute to their learning journey.

Novus is a leading provider of education and skills training in prison settings across England and Wales. For over 30 years, we have been dedicated to improving lives and economic success through education.

Role Overview:

The Learning Support Practitioner will be responsible for setting targets to help individuals with their learning plans and assisting teachers with strategies to support inclusion across the curriculum. They will also write learning support plans and provide support to individuals with challenging behaviour.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals presenting challenging behaviour
  • Good IT skills and familiarity with education software
  • Certification or willingness to obtain level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy within a specified timeframe
  • Certification or willingness to obtain a level 2 or 3 qualification for Learning Support Practitioners within a specified timeframe
