About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team at a thriving and diverse community primary school in Southwark. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in leading and managing the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Job Description:

  • Lead and manage the provision for students with SEND.
  • Teacher children in the ASD base once a week.
  • Coordinate and deliver high-quality support for pupils with additional needs, ensuring their access to an inclusive and engaging curriculum.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents/carers, and external agencies to achieve the best outcomes for students.
  • Maintain and monitor the SEND register, ensuring appropriate interventions are in place.
  • Ensure that statutory requirements such as Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) are fully implemented and reviewed regularly.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential.
  • NASENCO qualification (or willingness to work towards this).
  • Proven experience working with children with SEND.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • An ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.

Salary: £45,000 - 55,000 per annum, depending on experience.
