Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and driven solicitor to join our team. As a Housing Solicitor, you will have the opportunity to handle a diverse caseload, providing expert advice on housing matters to tenants, while working alongside senior and junior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of varying complexity related to housing law
  • Provide expert legal advice on matters such as eviction, possession, homelessness, succession, and anti-social behaviour
  • Ensure compliance with Legal Aid Agency standards, including SQM and Peer Review Criteria
  • Competitive salary based on experience, with pro-rated options for reduced hours
  • 26 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, with office closure over Christmas (not deducted from holiday entitlement)

Requirements

  • Strong commitment to legal aid and a desire to help those facing housing challenges
  • Passion for legal aid and supporting vulnerable individuals, including those with mental health issues
  • Strong knowledge of housing law, including eviction, possession, and homelessness issues
  • Excellent advocacy, organisational, and IT skills
  • Ability to meet the rigorous standards required by the Legal Aid Agency
