Senior Ecologist Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Ecologist to join our team at Allen & York. As a Senior Ecologist, you will be responsible for managing large and complex projects, working with a range of clients across the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage large and complex projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and develop effective solutions.
  • Lead a team of ecologists, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant UK and European legislation, policy, and guidance.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant subject (e.g., ecology, environmental science, biology).
  • Membership to CIEEM (Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management).
  • At least two Natural England protected species class licences or progressing towards this.
  • Extensive experience in an ecological consultancy, with a strong understanding of UK and European legislation, policy, and guidance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Full UK driving licence.
