Senior Ecologist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ecologist to join our team at CV Library. As a Senior Ecologist, you will lead a team of ecologists, providing expert advice and managing projects to ensure the successful implementation of survey and mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of ecologists and provide expert advice on ecological projects
  • Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
  • Develop and implement survey and mitigation strategies to minimize environmental impact
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliverables
  • Conduct site visits and surveys to gather data and inform project decisions
  • Prepare and present reports, including PEA, EIA, and BNG reports
  • Stay up-to-date with UK and European ecological legislation and best practices
Requirements:
  • Degree in Ecology or a related field
  • Extensive experience conducting protected species and habitat surveys
  • Proven leadership and project management experience
  • Strong knowledge of UK and European ecological legislation
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Protected Species Licence(s)
  • Proficiency with QGIS and other ecological software
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK
  • CIEEM Membership
