We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical/Forensic Psychologist to join our team at HMP Lewes, a category B prison in East Sussex. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the clinical leadership team, supporting the development of the psychological therapies service.

The mental health team on site is psychologically minded and has brought in many new practices, including the use of AI. This is a fixed-term contract starting in February 2025, with the possibility of a permanent position after the initial term.

The role offers a competitive salary of up to £58,000 per annum FTE, depending on experience. Benefits include bespoke induction, support from the wider Psychological Therapies team, and opportunities for professional development.

We are looking for a caring and compassionate professional with proven post-qualification experience in Clinical/Forensic Psychology. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Forensic Mental Health patients and a strong understanding of secure environments.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the development of the psychological therapies service
  • Undertake psychological assessments and support complex multi-disciplinary formulations
  • Deliver teaching and training to healthcare and prison staff
  • Contribute to the development of audit, service evaluation, and research profile

Requirements:

  • Proven post-qualification professional experience in Clinical/Forensic Psychology
  • Experience working with Forensic Mental Health patients
