Job Title: Desktop Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Desktop Support Specialist to join our team at HCLTech. As a Desktop Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day local and remote desktop support, troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and application issues in a ticketing system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide desktop support to end-users, including troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, and application issues.
  • Facilitate customer resolution for calls and engage supervisors and managers to ensure operational consistency across all shifts within the IT Support Centre.
  • Provide fault analysis to customers' various core operating systems and platforms, and apply desktop fault resolution for approved application suites.
  • Build, provision, and decommission end-user devices and accessories for Windows, Apple Mac OSX, and Apple Phones.
  • Follow asset management procedures and update call management documentation.
  • Provide audio-visual support, complete room testing, and work with third-party vendors to remediate complex AV issues as needed.
  • Arrange for warranty support for Windows and Mac devices.
  • Perform hands-on support for third-line network/server changes.
  • Inspect and maintain printers, including toner changes, preliminary fault diagnosis, and basic fault handling.
  • Data room inspections to ensure compliance with client guidelines.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in Windows desktop support.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
  • CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or Apple equivalent certifications.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and internal customer service skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible in a fast-changing industry and work environment.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime, off-hours, and weekends when required for projects or emergency support.
