Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager to join our team at Kingsmead Homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction and be able to manage projects from start to finish.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Estimating and take-offs for construction projects
  • Preparing enquiries, analysing tenders, and managing subcontractors
  • Attending meetings with clients, site meetings, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Managing subcontractors, including orders, payments, and final accounts
  • Providing technical advice across all stages of the development process, assessing risks, validating costs, and carrying out site inspections
  • Keeping track of on-site changes and variations
  • General tasks to support the business
Requirements:
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Quantity surveying qualification
  • CSCS card
  • Sound working knowledge of construction and contract law
  • Knowledge of cost forecasting and reporting, cost control, cost risk management, contract documentation preparation, and contract administration
  • Ability to work well under pressure and communicate confidently
  • Technically minded and able to use own initiative, as well as work as part of a team
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
