Job Title: Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Physiotherapy Assistant Practitioner to join our team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the new Major Trauma Service, supporting the delivery of intensive rehabilitation to patients who have suffered complex multisystem injury.

You will be allocated a delegated patient caseload by the registered Allied Health Professionals, delivering holistic rehabilitative interventions without supervision.

The post will cover the breadth of the Major Trauma Service, working between the dedicated acute inpatient Major Trauma Ward and the Supported Discharge Team working in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess patients' rehab needs and modify existing treatment plans as needed.
  2. Deliver rehabilitative interventions independently and as part of the multidisciplinary team.
  3. Work closely with Allied Health Professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
  4. Support patients' transition back into the community and independent living.
Requirements

Candidates must have a good awareness of the role of the Allied Health Professions and previous experience working in a rehabilitation setting is desirable.

Successful candidates will be supported to develop knowledge and skills across the breadth of the Allied Health Professions via training and development opportunities.
