Job Title: Procurement Category Specialist

The Port of Dover is a leading international ferry port and a vital gateway for the movement of people and trade. As a Procurement Category Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the Engineering and Infrastructure team by leading category management strategies and related procurement activity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement category strategies to achieve cost efficiencies and best value
  • Manage key relationships between business stakeholders and the procurement team
  • Deliver recurring cost savings and continuous improvement
  • Develop and manage sourcing strategies and SRM plans for the Engineering category
  • Meet value improvement targets and align with corporate goals
Requirements:
  • MCPIS Level 4 or equivalent professional qualification
  • Previous category management support or strategic procurement experience
  • Category knowledge and experience leading at least two of the following categories: operational goods and services, engineering goods and services, utilities and energy supply services, and construction works
  • Demonstrable competencies in commercial negotiations and competitive processes
  • Experience in using Purchase-to-Pay and Source-to-Contracts tools or systems/processes
  • Intermediate level experience in Microsoft Office products, including Excel
