Director of Education Job Description

About the Role

The Philadelphia Education Fund is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Education to join our team. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of resource development and fundraising efforts to support our work as a services provider and education thought leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive resource development and fundraising strategy to support the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Manage a team of development professionals, including grant writers, database administrators, and communications managers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, corporate partners, and community leaders.
  • Develop and implement a donor cultivation and stewardship program to ensure long-term relationships with major donors.
  • Manage the grants and RFP coordination process, including researching and writing grants, managing the grants calendar, and reporting on grant progress.
  • Plan and execute events, including the annual gala fundraiser, to engage donors and supporters.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in development, fundraising, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing resource development and fundraising strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
