Development Director

Vita is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Director to lead our fundraising efforts and advance our brand. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, collaborating with the Executive Director and Board Fundraising Committee, and establishing annual fundraising targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage marketing materials to advance Vita's brand and promote our mission.
  • Design and lead advertising and social media campaigns to engage our community and drive fundraising efforts.
  • Plan and coordinate fundraising events, including evening and weekend events.
  • Represent Vita at community events and collaborate with partners on joint outreach and fundraising efforts.
  • Research and write grant applications, letters of interest, and reports to donors.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing donors and cultivate new donors and sponsors.
  • Manage our donor database and coordinate mailings and outreach efforts.
  • Write thank you letters to donors and keep them informed about how their gifts are used.
  • Prepare internal reports on fundraising activities to analyze effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business relations, communications, public relations, marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in fundraising, preferably in educational settings.
  • Commitment to working for a grass roots, community-based organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to relate to, establish connections with, and motivate other people.
  • Willingness and ability to work long evening and weekend hours as needed.
  • Experience using social media and other Internet platforms.
  • Maturity and sensitivity working with diverse populations.
