About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the Pharmacy Dispensary, ensuring the accurate and timely dispensing of medications to patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • To accurately and promptly dispense prescriptions for in-patients, out-patients, day-patients, and leave/discharge patients.
  • To issue dispensed medicines to patients and confirm that they know how to use them.
  • To supply Controlled Drugs and maintain accurate records.
  • To undertake final-checking according to a defined policy when competence has been proven.
  • To undertake Enhanced Patient Counselling following appropriate training.
  • To participate in the 'late night' and weekend service provided by the Dispensary department.
