We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Scientist to join our dedicated team of scientists, physicians, and professionals who are passionate about transforming the treatment of serious and debilitating chronic diseases.
As a Sr. Scientist, you will play a critical role in the development and optimization of our gene therapy platform, utilizing cutting-edge science and technology to unlock the true potential of gene therapy. Your expertise will be instrumental in advancing our research programs, driving innovation, and ensuring the highest quality standards in our products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, execute, and analyze scientific experiments in a timely and high-quality manner.
- Develop and optimize scalable upstream manufacturing processes using tools like Design of Experiments (DoE).
- Lead the development of methods and protocols, seeking advice as needed, and implement them within the current structures at Spur.
- Collaborate with our internal CMC team for the transfer of manufacturing and quality aspects of our products from Research to CMC.
- Support work involving external collaborations and Contract Development & Manufacturing Organizations (CDMOs).
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in a relevant discipline with >2 years of post-doctoral experience or at least 5 years of industry experience.
- Scientific training and background in the following areas:
- Essential – Experience in running bioreactors with suspension cultures of mammalian cells.
- Highly Desirable – Experience in viral vector (specially AAV) manufacture in bioreactors with suspension cultures of mammalian cells.
- Experience in conducting Design of Experiment (DoE) studies & understanding of biochemical analytical monitoring of bioreactors.
