Job Description:

As a Senior Occupational Therapist at Wokingham Borough Council, you will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy services to adults with mental health needs. You will work closely with our integrated mental health team to develop and implement individualised care plans that promote independence and well-being.

You will have extensive experience in mental health settings and hold a strong understanding of relevant legislation, including Safeguarding, Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Human Rights. A comprehensive knowledge of assessment tools and interventions will also be essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify individuals' needs and goals
  • Develop and implement care plans that address specific needs and promote independence
  • Work collaboratively with care providers, Social Care Practitioners, and voluntary organisations to ensure seamless delivery of services
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members to ensure consistency in practice
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Post-qualification experience in mental health settings (minimum 3 years)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
