We are seeking an experienced and skilled Emergency Medicine Consultant to join our team at Darent Valley Hospital. As a key member of our Accident and Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of medical professionals, and contributing to the development of our emergency services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert medical care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and urgent conditions.
- Lead a team of medical professionals, including junior doctors, nurses, and other support staff, to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
- Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to improve patient care and outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of our emergency services, including the design and implementation of new clinical pathways and protocols.
- Participate in teaching and training of junior doctors and other medical professionals.
- Engage in clinical audit and quality improvement activities to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Medicine Consultant who possesses the following qualities:
- Recognised medical degree (MBBS or equivalent).
- On the Specialist Register, or confirmed expectation within 6 months of appointment.
- Postgraduate diploma: FRCEM or recognised equivalent.
- Postgraduate diploma: MRCEM, MRCP (UK or Ireland), MRCS/FRCS or equivalent.
- Advanced competency in prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and urgent conditions.
- Experience of teaching doctors-in-training and undergraduates.
- Experience of clinical audit.
