Job Overview

  • Enforce public health protection laws, codes, ordinances, and regulations to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Respond promptly to environmental health emergencies, such as outbreaks of infectious diseases or environmental contamination incidents.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to members of the public regarding environmental health functions and address service requests or complaints.
  • Offer information and guidance to businesses and the public on environmental health issues to promote better practices and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records, prepare detailed reports, and collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to public health.
Requirements
  • A degree in Environmental Health accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).
  • Registration with the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) or equivalent.
  • Relevant work experience in environmental health or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • A good understanding of public health laws and regulations.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.
