Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced midwife to join our Obstetric and Gynaecology Research Team at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the successful conduct of our expanding research portfolio, working closely with senior research colleagues to manage and coordinate concurrent research studies.

As a registered midwife, the post holder will maintain their clinical skills and credibility by adhering to NMC guidance and upholding professional standards of practice and behaviour.

Main Duties
  • Manage and coordinate concurrent research studies with support from senior research colleagues.
  • Provide effective, caring, and compassionate services to patients participating in clinical research studies.
  • Complete procedures and investigations according to study protocol, Trust, and local policies.
  • Identify potential participants for recruitment, provide verbal and written information, monitor progress, and collect and collate patient data.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider multi-disciplinary team in the coordination of clinical studies and ensure adherence to local, national, and international research regulations.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Education to first degree level in a health-related subject.
  • Registration with the NMC.
  • Considerable and current experience in the NHS clinical environment as a registered nurse with recent clinical skills practice in a specialist area.
  • Current and considerable delivery research experience with knowledge of processes, practices, and governance.

Desirable criteria include GCP training and previous experience in a senior role of band 6 or above.
