Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the business in driving our sustainability ambitions and achieving our goal to be a net zero company delivering nature positive solutions.
  • Promote environmental initiatives aligned with our sustainability strategy, including carbon reduction, waste minimisation, and the protection and enhancement of nature.
  • Build trusting relationships with project delivery teams, clients, and stakeholders, and fully understand the client context and deliver against their needs.
  • Take the lead in communicating goals and inspiring teams to deliver high standards.
  • Implement the LOR Energy and Environmental Management System.
  • Manage environmental risks, deliverables, and requirements, involving design and delivery teams in risk mitigation and control measures.
  • Develop and deliver environmental training.
  • Manage comprehensive environmental data reporting requirements and set KPIs for continual improvement.
  • Report and investigate environmental incidents and non-conformances, and embed effective corrective actions.
  • Provide technical advice to project design and delivery teams to identify and mitigate environmental risks.

Requirements:

  • Experience working on large infrastructure projects.
  • High level of personal drive and commitment, with effective goal setting ability.
  • Positive approach to change, with ability to help others become receptive and responsive.
  • Deep understanding of environmental legislation and requirements, including ISO14001 and ISO50001.
  • Logical and well-organised, with ability to prioritise.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience engaging with consent granting bodies and managing relationships for timely approval.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a degree in an appropriate environment or sustainability discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Full membership of IEMA or alternative suitable membership.
