About the Role

We are seeking an energetic and passionate Senior / Principal environmental consultant to work within our environmental assessment and management team, delivering and managing projects and helping to grow our environment consulting business. You will work within our Climate and Sustainability Services group based in Birmingham City Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage and deliver environmental assessments for projects at all stages and across sectors, focusing on national energy infrastructure.
  2. Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment with other environmental, planning, engineering, and sustainability specialists.
  3. Steer environmental disciplines (both internal and external to Arup) to deliver high-quality environmental consultancy services.
  4. Deliver environmental impact assessments, managing the assessment process and technical teams, and reviewing all technical inputs.
  5. Undertake environment discipline roles at all stages of infrastructure project delivery through feasibility, design, consent, and construction management.
Requirements
  1. Education to degree level, preferably a Master's degree, in a related topic.
  2. Member of an appropriate professional body, such as the Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) or equivalent.
  3. Specific knowledge in linear infrastructure projects is advantageous, including having delivered projects through the governance processes associated with these.
  4. Professional environmental consultancy focused on working within environmental impact assessment and the delivery of infrastructure projects.
  5. Working within a commercial consulting environment, including client liaison, programme and time management, quality assurance, and financial / budget control.
