Job Description

**Production Planner Role**

We are seeking an experienced Production Planner to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As a Production Planner, you will play a crucial role in supporting everyday planning and stock control, as well as assisting the Demand Planning Manager in implementing a new software package.

Key Responsibilities:
  • **Planning and Stock Control**: Develop and implement effective production plans to meet customer demands and optimize inventory levels.
  • **Produce Weekly Production Plans**: Utilize demand planning software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel to create and manage production plans.
  • **Amend Plans as Required**: Analyze and report on shortfalls and discrepancies, and make necessary adjustments to production plans.
  • **Verify Work Order Confirmations**: Ensure accuracy in raw material and packaging quantities, and coordinate annual and perpetual inventory counts.
  • **Conduct Weekly Inventory Checks**: Reconcile stocks and perform regular inventory counts and audits to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • **Create New Items**: Develop and implement new items within MRP, including packaging specifications and batch filling records.
  • **Assist in Software Implementation**: Learn and assist in the implementation of new software, producing work instructions and process flows.
  • **Develop Demand Planning**: Utilize Demand Planning as a tool for further realization of the S&OP process.
  • **Assist Demand Planning Manager**: Provide support to the Demand Planning Manager with reports and other tasks as required.
Requirements:
  • **Experience in Production Planning**: Proven experience in production planning and working with data management systems, with a good knowledge of MRP/forecasting software.
  • **Supply Chain and Planning Theory**: In-depth understanding of supply chain and planning theory.
  • **Inventory Control and Stock Management**: Experience in inventory control and stock management systems.
  • **Data Analysis and IT Skills**: Excellent data analysis and IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel and PowerBI.
  • **Communication Skills**: Good communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
  • **Attention to Detail**: Strong attention to detail and a demonstrable ability to learn quickly.
