About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Engineering Lecturer to join our team at Bournemouth & Poole College. As an Engineering Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences to our students, as well as providing support and guidance to help them achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver scheduled teaching, student assignments, and tutorials to students in Engineering programs
  • Provide distance learning support to groups of students, including online tutorials and workshops
  • Visit employers and workplaces to provide work placement support and guidance
  • Offer educational guidance and counselling to students, including personal tutoring and review sessions
  • Supervise learning programs and ensure students are meeting their academic goals
  • Support students in developing their employability skills, including work experience and volunteering opportunities
  • Participate in college events, including open evenings and other activities outside of normal working hours

Requirements:

  • Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths
  • Teaching Qualification or willingness to achieve within 2 years
  • Level 3 apprenticeship and industry experience or Degree in a relevant subject
  • Experience in facilitating learning for students in an educational or workplace setting
  • Current evidence-based practice in the field of expertise
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal
  • Flexible, adaptable, and resilient, with the ability to work with students of all ages
