Research Fellow in Non-Reciprocal Photonic Integrated Circuits

About the Role
UCL is seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to join its team in the CIRCULIGHT project. The successful candidate will work with researchers from eight other universities, research institutes, and companies to investigate a new approach to integrating non-reciprocal functionality in photonic integrated circuits.
The Research Fellow will be responsible for carrying out research on the integration of magneto-bi-plasmonic device elements into a new PIC platform. This will involve designing and fabricating a transceiver PIC and evaluating its performance.
The post is available immediately and is a great opportunity for a researcher to make significant contributions to the field of photonics.
About You
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in Photonics, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field. The successful candidate will have a track record of high-level research in photonics, semiconductor devices, or a related discipline.
Experience of using optical and electronic test equipment is essential, as is the ability to travel to meetings with partners in EU countries.
Desirable skills include programming experience (MATLAB, Python) and/or relevant technical software packages (Lumerical, Photon Design, CST Studio, COMSOL).
