About the Role
UCL is seeking a highly skilled Research Fellow to join its team in the CIRCULIGHT project. The successful candidate will work with researchers from eight other universities, research institutes, and companies to investigate a new approach to integrating non-reciprocal functionality in photonic integrated circuits.
The Research Fellow will be responsible for carrying out research on the integration of magneto-bi-plasmonic device elements into a new PIC platform. This will involve designing and fabricating a transceiver PIC, as well as critically evaluating its performance.
The post is available immediately and is a great opportunity for a researcher to make significant contributions to the field of photonics.
About You
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in Photonics, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field. A track record of high-level research in photonics, semiconductor devices, or a related discipline is essential. The successful candidate will also have experience of using optical and electronic test equipment.
Desirable skills include experience of programming (MATLAB, Python) and/or relevant technical software packages (Lumerical, Photon Design, CST Studio, COMSOL). Practical experience of photonic integrated circuits, optical waveguides, and/or plasmonics is also desirable.
