Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Facilities Supervisor to join our team at Breedon Group plc. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination of all activities relating to the management of general site buildings and supporting infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Management: Manage the completion of prioritized actions in a timely manner against the latest site structural survey, fire risk assessment, roller shutter doors, and asbestos survey.
  • Work Request Management: Manage all daily work requests from all colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Asset Management: Manage the cooling water dispenser 3-month services and update the asset register.
  • Fire Safety: Assist the competent person (external consultant) who reviews the annual fire risk assessments by accompanying him/her whilst conducting all reviews.
  • Document Management: Ensure all documents relating to maintaining works are archived within the facilities department. Any other documents to be passed over to the relevant departments for similar archiving.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Maintain grounds vegetation and perimeter fencing, including railway and quarries.
  • Roller Shutter Doors: Maintain roller shutter doors. Ensure the asset list and site plan is maintained and updated.
  • Boiler Maintenance: Maintain all works boilers and electric water heaters. Ensure the asset register and works plan is updated.
  • Decorating and Painting: Internal decorating of all office buildings and floor coverings.
  • External Cladding: External cladding maintenance to all buildings.
  • Door and Window Maintenance: Maintenance of all office doors, fire doors, and windows.
  • Car Park and Plant Road Maintenance: Maintenance to car park, all plant roads, and all works authorized walking routes.
  • Roof Maintenance: Maintenance of building roofs (including build-up & vegetation management), rainwater systems, and skylights.
  • Window Cleaning: Management of the window cleaning contract for the site.
  • Welfare and Office Plumbing: Maintenance of all welfare & office plumbing & drainage, including toilets & showers for the site.
  • Canteen and Welfare Facilities: Maintenance of works welfare facilities, including canteen, carrying out due diligence on canteen areas to meet hygiene compliance.
  • Marquees and Event Management: Organize, manage, and maintain the marquees for the major shutdowns.
  • Project Management: To be the main point of contact for all work associated with Centreplain Limited. Work closely with the supervisor to prioritize their workload by updating on a weekly basis their workload spreadsheet, and dates of completed work.
  • CAPEX Management: Assist in any CAPEX that involves work directly responsible to the facilities manager.
  • Health and Safety: If external assistance is required, including suppliers and contractors, that all relevant safety documents are readily available, signed, and filed after the job. This includes RAMS, COSHH data sheets, competencies of individual contractors, job control forms, permits, access permissions, i.e., rail and quarries.
  • Shutdown Management: Prioritize workload that may only be completed during a planned shutdown. Supervise those contractors directly related to yourself, i.e., BVD, CRL, or any other planned work from yourself.
  • Legionella Risk Assessment: Management of actions associated with legionella risk assessments and routine compliance monitoring, e.g., temperature adjustments, removal of deadlegs and pipework, calorifier inspections, maintenance, and upkeep of the potable water supply system.
  • Utility Surveys: Assistance with utility surveys and clearance for breaking ground.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: NEBOSH National General Certificate, Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification, Level 4 Diploma in Facilities Management, Duty to Manage Asbestos (Appointed Person), F-Gas Awareness/Management training.
  • Experience: 3 years relevant supervisory & management experience, personnel and cost management skills relevant to managing a defined financial budget, financial planning ability, including longer-term budget management & shorter-term cost control.
  • Skills/Knowledge: Excellent oral and written communication, listening skills, take on board interests from colleagues and stakeholders, highly organized (with documentation and prioritization of varied workload), proven solution-oriented critical thinking, lead by example, challenge unsafe acts/conditions, attention to detail, work closely and effectively with groups at all levels, strong presentation skills, sound understanding of business management systems including relevant standards, e.g., ISO 6001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001, excellent engagement skills, good knowledge of core IT systems, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Project, CAD, flexible attitude: working additional hours across the week to meet business needs (relevant to project implementation).
