Job Summary:

In the heart of the UK, our Inshore Lifeboat Centre on the Isle of Wight is seeking an experienced Marine Mechanic to join our team. This exciting role will see you play a vital part in maintaining and repairing our lifeboats to the highest technical standards.

Your primary responsibility will be to focus on marine petrol/diesel outboard and inboard engines, fuel systems, and associated control systems. You will also work with hydraulics, cooling, fuel, and control mechanisms, as well as fabrication, repairs, and welding. As a key member of our team, you will adapt to new equipment and machinery as projects arise and demonstrate strong reading and problem-solving skills.

We are looking for someone with a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent qualification, such as City and Guilds or NVQ3. Ideally, you should have experience in marine fitting installations, boat construction within a boatyard/factory environment, and the ability to learn new skills. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to provide technical support and advice, working both independently and as part of a team. With competitive pay (£35,000 - £40,000 per annum), benefits including performance-related pay scheme, 26 days' annual leave, and a 4-day working week, this is an exceptional opportunity to join our dynamic team.
