Overview


We are seeking an experienced Special Education Needs Support Professional to join our team in West Drayton. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting students with special education needs and be able to provide high-quality support to our teaching staff.


Job Summary



  • To assist the lead teacher in enabling each pupil to access their curriculum
  • Engage with playground activities and support the development of pupil's education
  • Ensure pupils physical, emotional and social welfare
  • Operate in a calm and assertive manner during SEN specific situations
  • Be aware of SEN in schools and how ECHP plans work
  • Maintain accurate records and attend review meetings
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians
  • Provide 1:1, 2:1 and 3:1 support as required
  • Ensure children's safety at all times

Requirements



  • Experience working with SEN pupils
  • Friendly and compassionate attitude
  • Patient and resilient approach
  • Sensitivity and understanding towards students' needs
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Confidence working in small groups and on a 1:1 basis

Main Responsibilities



  1. Support the lead teacher to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special education needs
  2. Assist in creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth
  3. Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure student success
  4. Document student progress and participate in regular review meetings
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  6. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge
