Job Title: SEN Teacher and Pathway Lead

Location: West Drayton, Greater London.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £55,415 - £60,000

MLK Education Search is seeking to appoint an experienced SEN Teacher to join a newly established independent school in Harmondsworth, West Drayton. The school caters to children aged 5-11 with severe learning difficulties and Autism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design engaging and interactive sessions to enhance learner participation and engagement.
  • Create and implement Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents to support student development and progress.
  • Track and document student progress regularly, using data to inform teaching practices.
  • Monitor and record learner attendance consistently, ensuring high levels of engagement.
  • Assist learners in developing self-regulation skills, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Manage a specific pathway, providing direct oversight for the classes within it, and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
  • Work closely with the SLT to review and improve the Quality of Education within the pathway, ensuring high standards are met.
  • Coordinate with SLT to implement pastoral care and positive behavior strategies, enhancing engagement and learning within the pathway.
Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience teaching SEN children, particularly those with severe learning difficulties and autism.
  • Experience with the EQUALS curriculum is beneficial, as is familiarity with non-linear developmental assessment frameworks (e.g., Routes for Learning, SCERTS).
  • Passion for working with SEN children and a commitment to providing high-quality education.
  • Ability to manage Teachers and Teaching Assistants, promoting a collaborative and supportive team environment.
