Gleeson Homes is seeking an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our Regional Commercial team. As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation, control, and reporting of all development/build-related expenditure.

You will be responsible for assisting the commercial team in delivering the Group Business plan, Commercial objectives, budgets, and future growth requirements. This will involve supporting the management and reporting of commercial activities, assisting with the implementation of commercial policies and processes, and helping to manage relationships with subcontractors, housing associations, and external partners.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification or basic understanding of the role of Quantity Surveying, basic finance/commercial awareness, and technical knowledge. They will also have a basic understanding of the construction industry, commercial and financial management systems, and controls.

Main Responsibilities
  • Supporting management and reporting of commercial activities
  • Assisting the commercial team in delivering the Group Business plan
  • Helping to manage relationships with subcontractors, housing associations, and external partners
  • Assisting with the implementation of commercial policies and processes
  • Participating in site visits to current and new sites, as well as potential sites
Requirements
  • Relevant qualification or basic understanding of the role of Quantity Surveying
  • Basic finance/commercial awareness and technical knowledge
  • Basic understanding of the construction industry
  • Basic knowledge of commercial and financial management systems and controls
  • Awareness of codes of practice that impact on commercial matters
