Job Description

Job Title: Patient Pathway Coordinator

Job Summary:

This is a part-time role for 22.5 hours per week, working hours Thursday, Friday, and Monday. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Patient Pathway Coordinator for the Directorate of Vascular Surgery.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and providing administrative support to the Vascular and Cardio-Vascular multidisciplinary team
  • Coordinating seminar clinics, collating and recording accurate and timely data
  • Providing up-to-date information on patients' pathways, ensuring any barriers or delays in treatment are removed
  • Monitoring all waiting lists for the directorate and supporting with the booking of theatre lists

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Extremely efficient and able to work under pressure as part of a large team
  • Prioritising and managing a busy workload
  • Commitment to delivering the best care to patients
  • GCSE (Grade 4-9 or equivalent in Maths and English) and NVQ Level 3 (Business Admin or relevant experience)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages (including Outlook and Excel)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology/medical administration (desirable)

Person Specification:

  • Approachable and sense of humour
  • Cope under pressure and flexible
  • IT expertise, communication skills, and organisational skills
  • Negotiation skills (desirable)
  • Working alone and as part of a team, communicating robustly with patients and relatives/carers
  • Liaising with staff members at all levels, knowledge of using healthcare databases, healthcare systems, and procedures
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of aspects of clinical governance and risk management
  • Experience of working closely with clinicians of varying seniority, using computerised databases, and Windows-based software
  • Previous NHS experience
