Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at an Outstanding one-form entry Primary School in Islington. This is a long-term to permanent role, with the opportunity to progress into a permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the individual learning needs of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Year 3, providing focused support and helping the child access learning in a structured and nurturing environment.
  • Assist the Year 1 class, providing general classroom support to the teacher and students, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive.
  • Support the implementation of the pupil's individual education plan (IEP) and contribute to communication and social development.
  • Assist with group activities, phonics, and other learning tasks in the Year 1 classroom.
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive and positive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, particularly those with ASD, is desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting young learners.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
