Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant for Autism Support

As a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, particularly those who are non-verbal. You will work within our Additional Resource Provision classes, providing tailored support to 15-20 students with a range of needs. Your dedication will help our students build self-confidence, develop essential life skills, and achieve their full potential.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ensuring their unique needs are met.
- Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
- Support the development of essential life skills, such as communication, social interaction, and daily living skills.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the well-being and participation of all students.
- Previous experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, particularly non-verbal students, is highly desirable.
- A qualification related to special educational needs is preferred but not essential.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with additional needs.
