Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer (Control and Instrumentation)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Active Vehicle Control (AVC) team. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the design, development, and integration of control and instrumentation systems for our platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake C&I system design, providing advice and producing evidence in support of legislative, safety, and technical requirements
  • Liaise with internal and external customers as part of a technical team
  • Undertake peer reviews
  • Articulate and present technical arguments, clearly, logically, and simply
  • Coordinate and execute engineering tasks or packages of work, providing guidance and advice in a consistent professional manner
  • Take notice of timescale and quality standards as well as provide leadership where required
Requirements:
  • A relevant Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) Degree or equivalent qualification and experience within an Engineering background
  • Experience in PLC and SCADA programming, C&I system design, verification, test design, or parts specification would be advantageous
  • Demonstrable experience of engineering lifecycle and technical specialities
  • Working towards relevant Professional Registration

About the AVC Team:

As the Senior Engineer within the AVC team, you will provide support to the Principal Engineers and/or external specialists during development, analysis, integration, and verification of platform control and instrumentation systems. You will also be involved in leading analysis and production of technical reports and team deliverables. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
