Job Overview

This role plays a vital part in supporting the Financial Services Management teams and ensuring robust process control around balance sheet reconciliations. The successful candidate will be responsible for key areas such as unreconciled items, working closely with Financial Control and Reporting, Internal Audit, and External Audits.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of month-end balance sheet reconciliations for allocated accounts, identifying and resolving reconciling items, particularly Payroll and Cash & Banking.
  • Liaising with the Group Financial Reporting Manager to determine and action the appropriate resolution at month-end.
  • Assisting with analytical reviews of balance sheet items to ensure variances against budget, prior year, and prior month are understood and documented.
  • Providing clear commentary on these items for monthly review packs to support the Financial reporting and FP&A team.
  • Collaborating with teams on month-end journal preparation and posting.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable SOX narratives.
  • Supporting audit queries and preparation of required audit analysis both internally and externally.
Requirements
  • Part-qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA/AAT or QBE qualification.
  • Proven experience of working in a Shared Service Centre would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with large complex businesses and ability to manage own workload effectively.
  • Excellent Excel skills, with experience of SAP an added benefit.
  • Understanding of IFRS principles and fundamental accounting concepts.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Salary and Benefits
