About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and caring Early Years practitioner to join our specialist provision in Worcester, supporting children with special needs up to 5 years old. This rewarding role involves creating a nurturing environment that fosters growth and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend to daily playroom maintenance, ensuring a safe and engaging space for children.
  • Design and implement activities tailored to individual children's needs, promoting learning and exploration.
  • Develop strong relationships with families and professionals, fostering a sense of community.
  • Act as a dedicated Key Person, observing, assessing, and planning to support children's development.
  • Record observations and share with staff and parents, promoting collaboration and progress.
  • Engage with children through 'shared play' or 'reflective' approaches, encouraging social and emotional growth.
  • Utilize teaching/learning strategies when appropriate, tailoring support to meet individual needs.
  • Support children's emotional well-being and parents' understanding of their child's play needs.

Requirements

  • Able to approach parents with kindness and empathy, listening actively and non-judgmentally.
  • Skilled at making parents feel valued and involved in sessions, supporting their concerns.
  • Prepared to attend team meetings and work closely with colleagues.
  • Hold a qualification at NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development or equivalent.
  • Possess excellent organisation and communication skills to coordinate play activities.
  • Aware of Health & Safety regulations and play materials promoting respect for differences.
