Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our specialist provision in Worcester.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a nurturing environment that fosters positive learning opportunities for children with special needs up to the age of 5.
  • Collaborate with the Centre Manager/Deputy Centre Manager to ensure effective planning, implementation, and development at the centre aligns with our charity's vision and goals.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Create engaging activities within the playrooms tailored to meet the diverse needs of children.
  2. Maintain strong relationships with families and professionals associated with your Key Children.
  3. Act as a dedicated Key Person to a group of children, observing, assessing, and planning to support their growth and development.
  4. Record observations using various methods and share them with other staff members and parents/carers.
  5. Foster emotional awareness and provide appropriate support for children's emotional needs.
  6. Engage with children through 'shared play' or 'reflective' approaches.
  7. Utilize teaching strategies tailored to individual children's needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development or equivalent qualification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with children from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and play materials that promote inclusivity.
