Job Title: Application Support Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer to join our Resource Engineering team at NEC Software Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our NEC Public Safety solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fault finding and troubleshooting of NEC Public Safety's DSX & Vision product suite at both hardware and software levels.
  • Creating, reviewing, and updating NEC Public Safety Engineering documentation, such as workplans, work instructions, and technical guides.
  • Liaising with 3rd party providers and internal teams to coordinate activities and gather information.
  • Providing customer contact on a technical and non-technical level, requiring a professional and adaptable approach to communication and interaction.
  • Answering customer queries on NEC Public Safety managed products, operational/configuration, or performance enhancing.
  • Following and adhering to NEC Public Safety and MCA outlined processes and procedures.
  • Completing activities within set deadlines and reporting any difficulties to achieve SLA/delivery milestones.
Requirements:
  • Experience at either 1st or 2nd line level of a service desk environment.
  • Experience of shift working, including day and night shifts, with a fixed 12-hour shift rotation.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Proven experience administering and working with Microsoft Windows 10, Windows Server up to 2016.
  • Working knowledge of MSSQL Application.
  • Practical experience in TCP/IP network support.
  • MS Business Applications experience, including Excel, Visio, and Word.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proven experience working to ITIL best practices.
