About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team and provide companionship and assistance to a young adult with Autism and hydrocephalus. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the individual to access activities within the local community, promoting their independence, and developing their social and life skills.

The ideal candidate will be patient, supportive, and caring, with good listening skills and the ability to provide non-judgmental emotional support. Previous experience in caring is not essential, but a genuine interest in supporting individuals with disabilities is required.

The role will involve supporting the individual to engage in activities such as art, music, and outdoor pursuits, as well as providing assistance with daily tasks and promoting their independence. The successful candidate will be flexible and able to adapt to the individual's needs on a daily basis.

We are looking for someone who is committed, motivated, and engaging, with a passion for making a difference to the lives of those they support.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support the individual to access activities within the local community
  • Assist the individual with daily tasks and promote their independence
  • Develop a good and trusting working relationship with the individual
  • Provide non-judgmental emotional support and listen to the individual's needs
  • Be flexible and adapt to the individual's needs on a daily basis

  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the individual's privacy
  • Have good listening skills and be able to provide non-judgmental emotional support
  • Be patient, supportive, and caring
  • Have a genuine interest in supporting individuals with disabilities
