About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join our Project & Programme Services team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our London & Southeast Project Management Service Line, you will be responsible for delivering project management services regionally, working collaboratively with our clients and colleagues to achieve successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project delivery, providing advisory support from senior colleagues as needed.
  • Manage consultant teams and monitor programmes through all RIBA stages to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Establish and maintain good client relationships.
  • Provide guidance and technical advice to clients, consultants, and colleagues as required.
  • Prepare fee proposals and bid submissions.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of financial project management.
  • Help clients define programme and project objectives and effectively manage them throughout the project duration.
  • Provide high-quality and consistent project management reporting.
  • Manage client relationships and service delivery on a commission or project basis.
  • Manage project teams internally, including resource management and wellbeing.
  • Stay up-to-date with legal and technical matters relevant to project work.
  • Apply quality assurance and environmental management principles in compliance with AtkinsRéalis policies.
  • Develop understanding of AtkinsRéalis service offerings and promote benefits to clients.
  • Assist in developing new business opportunities and generating repeat business.
  • Contribute to project governance and fee management activities.
  • Understand the wider AtkinsRéalis business, including appreciation of activities outside their own team/region, overall services offered, and strategic objectives.
  • Pursue performance improvements constantly.

Requirements:

  • Relevant construction qualification or ample experience within the construction industry.
  • Fully chartered member of a professional body (e.g., RICS, APM, CIOB, or equivalent recognised institutional body).
  • Ability to oversee a team on commissions/projects/programmes.
  • Previous experience working for a Project Management Consultancy.
  • Experience in delivering a range of building projects from inception to completion.
  • Client-facing experience, including working with clients on a commission/project basis.
  • Knowledge of both public and private sector clients.
  • Experience in JCT and/or NEC contract administration.
  • Managing other individuals, including undertaking performance and development reviews (PDRs) and mentoring and coaching less experienced colleagues.
  • Strong understanding and appreciation of programme and scheduling software.
  • Sound technical health, safety, and environmental knowledge, applicable to the business and wider construction industry.
  • Ability to form effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
