Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and caring Clinical Co-ordinator Healthcare Assistant to join our team at the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People in NHS Lothian.

Salary: £24,907 - £30,615 per annum (pro rata)

About the Role

The post holder will support the delivery of high quality patient care by carrying out clinical and administrative duties. They will work closely with colleagues to ensure timely patient care and appropriate patient flow throughout Children's Services.

  • Carry out clinical duties such as blood pressure monitoring, oxygen saturation levels, and glucose monitoring with minimal/no supervision.
  • Administer simple dressings using sterile and non-sterile techniques and undertake venepuncture procedures safely.
  • Take swabs from patients without supervision to test for infections such as MRSA.

Administrative Duties:

  • Monitor off-duty staff, eRoster, and SSTS, and maintain allocation sheets.
  • Access patient information and results on Trak, monitor Hospital@Night Workbench, and order taxis for specimens, patients, and staff.
  • Document staff absence calls and allocate parent accommodation when necessary.

This role operates 24/7, 7 days a week. The successful candidate must be able to work a combination of days, nights, and weekends.
