Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to join our team at Steer Automotive Group. As a MET Technician, you will be responsible for performing mechanical and body work on assigned jobs, including vehicle dismantling, inspections, and diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vehicle Repair: Perform all necessary mechanical and body work on assigned jobs, ensuring high-quality repairs and adherence to manufacturers' specifications.
  • Vehicle Dismantling: Dismantle vehicles to prepare them for the panel shop, ensuring efficient and safe working practices.
  • Inspections and Diagnostics: Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic work to identify and repair faults, using advanced tools and techniques.
  • Parts Management: Order replacement parts and ensure their timely arrival, managing inventory and minimizing downtime.
  • Vehicle Reassembly: Reassemble vehicles with new parts to restore them to pre-accident condition, ensuring high-quality finishes and attention to detail.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Significant experience as an MET Technician from an accident repair background, with a strong understanding of mechanical and body work principles.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and the ability to work skilfully and safely under pressure, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Workload Planning: Effective workload planning to meet agreed timescales, prioritizing tasks and managing time efficiently.
  • Specifications Adherence: Ability to work in accordance with manufacturers' specifications, ensuring compliance and quality standards.
  • Team Player: Team player with the initiative to work independently with minimal supervision, contributing to a positive and productive team environment.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility in approach and commitment to maintaining high standards, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Health and Safety: Adherence to Health and Safety guidelines, including wearing provided PPE and maintaining cleanliness in work areas.
