About the Role

This Class Support Specialist position offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people with complex needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to the class teacher in devising learning and care plans, managing triggers of challenging behaviour, and collaborating with multi-agency teams to develop strategies for student progress and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students with SEMH, Attachment Disorder, and other related conditions.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, support workers, and external agencies to ensure seamless provision and consistent high standards.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A recognised teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, etc.) or equivalent experience as a teaching assistant.
  • HLTA Qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children and young people with SEN, particularly SEMH, Attachment Disorder, and related conditions.
